The Archaeological Park of Castiglione di Paludi, in the province of Cosenza in Calabria, is situated on a hill about 300 meters above sea level.
The site has significant historical, archaeological, and landscape importance, but much information is still missing because most of the artifacts have not yet been excavated. The part that is currently visitable is only a small portion of what remains of the towers, gates, and walkways.
This ancient settlement was inhabited by early populations that first settled on the Sybarite coasts until the arrival of the Brettii, Lucanian populations who settled in Calabria starting from 356 BC. They inhabited the site of Paludi between the 4th and 3rd centuries BC, absorbing the Greek culture that permeated these coasts.
The Archaeological Park of Paludi also hosts numerous events such as readings, art exhibitions, and literary walks.
